The SHINE Program is a subsidiary of Elder Services of Berkshire County. The SHINE Program ensures that Medicare beneficiaries have access to accurate information regarding health care options. We counsel elders on how to compare health insurance options; how to choose a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan; how to locate a Medicare Participating Provider; how to file for a Low Income Subsidy for prescription drugs and how to apply for the State Pharmacy Program. SHINE also provides assistance with applications, appeals and information about benefits of Berkshire Elder Services

Readings are done at 9:30-10:30 AM, on the first Wednesday of the month.

The Brown Bag Program is a food distribution program that takes place on the third Friday of the month at 11:00 AM.
It is a State run program that depends on your income.
You must apply for this service.
Applications are available at the Senior Center.
There is no fee charged for this program

Western Massachusetts Labor Action (WMLA) - (413) 443-9862
WMLA serves as an intermediary between residents and utility when their heat is shut off, informing residents, for example, that it is illegal for utilities to shut off electricity between November 15th and March 15th of any given year.
First Wednesday of every month, except January and February, a nurse comes to the center, to take care of our feet.
She is a private nurse and the charge for her services is $30.00 for residents and $55.00 for non-residents.
You must make an appointment through the center.
She will also take walk-ins when possible.
Pot Luck Lunch is held the third Wednesday of every month in the gym in the Otis Town Hall.
Bring a dish to share.
Occasionally lunches are catered by an outside source and then you must sign up at the Senior Center to attend.
The Out to Lunch Bunch meets the first Thursday of each month.
It’s a very casual group that meets at a local restaurant and pays for their
own lunch. It’s a fun way to keep in touch with each other.
